The EMRC Picks Up New Jurisdictional Areas
7/30/2021

As of January 1, 2022, all counties in West Virginia will fall under the Eastern Millwright Regional Council's jurisdiction. Previously, the counties of Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall, Cabell, Wayne, and Lincoln were under the Indiana-Kentucky-Ohio Regional Council of Carpenters' jurisdiction. The EMRC gave the IKORCC the areas of Athens and Washington County in Ohio, and the Eastern Atlantic Regional States Council of Carpenters gave IKORCC the counties of Jefferson and Columbiana in Ohio to acquire these new counties in West Virginia.

The contract that is currently in place will remain in place until 2023. Ongoing jobs that were started before January 1, 2022, will remain under the previous Council's jurisdiction. Any new jobs are started after January 1, 2022, will be managed by the EMRC.
